Role:

On behalf of the client, we are looking for an experienced leader for the management of client representation and strategic project management in public building construction. You will take on the personnel and professional leadership of a team of client representatives and be responsible for demanding construction projects from strategic planning to realisation. The focus is on client-side project control, sustainable construction, public procurement, and adherence to cost, schedule, and quality targets. The position offers a responsible leadership role with the opportunity to actively shape public building culture and the sustainable development of real estate projects in the canton of Basel-Landschaft.

Responsibilities:

• Professional and personnel leadership of client representatives with responsibility for promoting, developing, and purposefully supporting employees

• Assuming client representation and project management for demanding public building and real estate projects

• Management of construction projects across all relevant SIA phases from strategic planning and project development to construction realisation

• Cost, schedule, and quality management with responsibility for the economical, timely, and high-quality implementation of construction projects

• Coordination of interdisciplinary planning and project teams with management of external architectural firms, specialist planners, and other project participants

• Ensuring compliance with public procurement regulations in tenders, awards, and commissioning of external services

• Integration of sustainability goals into project development and construction considering ecological, economic, and social requirements

• Promotion of a high architectural and urban building culture ensuring design and functional quality standards

• Strategic management of planning and construction processes with early identification of project risks and initiation of appropriate measures

• Active stakeholder management coordinating and communicating between authorities, users, political bodies, and external project partners

• Preparation and support of decision-making processes including the creation of project reports, decision bases, and relevant control information

• Further development of digital and sustainable project management processes to optimise client-side project execution and internal collaboration

Qualifications:

• Completed studies in architecture or civil engineering at ETH, university, or university of applied sciences with solid knowledge in building construction and public real estate management

• Several years of professional experience and proven leadership experience in managing employees and demanding construction or real estate projects

• Comprehensive experience in client-side project management and client representation with a confident understanding of strategic planning, project control, and realisation

• Sound knowledge of sustainable construction and public procurement as well as understanding of the special requirements of public construction projects

• Strong cost, schedule, and quality awareness with entrepreneurial thinking, negotiation skills, and sound judgement

• Cooperative, goal-oriented, and motivating leadership style with high social competence, assertiveness, and a structured, solution-oriented working method

• High digital affinity and very good German language skills in spoken and written form as well as pronounced communication skills in dealing with authorities, project teams, and various stakeholders
