About the job
The Building Insurance of the Canton of Schaffhausen insures the buildings located in the canton as an independent public law entity and offers comprehensive coverage for fire and natural hazard damages. It provides information on insurance sums to owners and authorities, advises building owners on prevention matters, and is responsible for premium collection and asset management. Furthermore, the Cantonal Fire Brigade is also attached to the Building Insurance, making its tasks part of the Building Insurance's responsibilities.

What to expect- Responsibility for the legally compliant, efficient and customer-oriented handling of claims - from notification to payment
- Professional leadership and support of the claims handler as well as coordination of the external claims assessor team
- Ensuring uniform processes, quality standards and work instructions in claims management
- Preparation of claims decisions and statements in appeal procedures
- Creation of evaluations, statistics and bases for the annual report
- Participation in the further development of processes, IT systems and organisational procedures
- Contact person for insured persons, external partners and internal specialist departments
- Cooperation with insurers, administrations, banks, authorities and other stakeholders
What you bring
- Completed training in the field of structural engineering with appropriate further education or further training as an insurance specialist
- Several years of professional experience in claims handling, ideally in the insurance environment
- Understanding of the interrelations between construction, insurance and prevention
- Structured, precise and efficient working style as well as high service orientation
- Very good oral and written communication skills
- Strong team skills as well as the ability to lead professionally and involve different stakeholders
- Confident appearance, sense of responsibility and solution-oriented thinking
- IT affinity as well as interest in digital processes and systems
- Advantageous: experience in the construction or insurance industry, leadership experience and knowledge in project management
