Role:
On behalf of the client, we are looking for an experienced individual as Overall Project Manager: Building Construction / Realisation for the overarching management of demanding new build and refurbishment projects. You will take over medium-sized construction projects from the preliminary project through tendering and realisation to commissioning and handover and coordinate all planning and execution participants. As the central interface to the client, you are particularly responsible for costs, schedules, quality, and site logistics and apply modern management methods such as Lean Construction Management (LCM). Additionally, you lead project staff and contribute to the development of new client relationships and projects.
Responsibilities:
Assuming overall project management of medium-sized new build and refurbishment projects from preliminary project to handover
Managing the planning, tendering, execution, and commissioning phases according to relevant SIA processes
Leading and coordinating architects, specialist planners, contractors, specialists, and authorities
Central contact person for the client as well as preparing and leading planning, project, and client meetings
Responsibility for tendering, submissions, awarding contracts, and contractor coordination
Creating and managing planning, tendering, and execution schedules
Developing and coordinating site logistics and realisation processes
Responsibility for cost planning, cost control, forecasting, and project controlling
Ensuring agreed cost, schedule, and quality targets as well as early management of project risks
Applying Lean Construction Management (LCM) to optimise planning and construction processes
Leading and professionally developing project staff and interdisciplinary project teams
Contributing to acquisition, proposal preparation, and building long-term client and network relationships
Qualifications:
Technical construction education with further training at HF, FH, federal diploma or MAS level, for example architecture, civil engineering, construction management or construction supervision
At least 5 years of professional experience in Switzerland in construction, project or overall project management of building construction projects
Solid experience in tendering, awarding contracts, construction cost, schedule and quality management
Experience in leading and coordinating interdisciplinary project teams
Knowledge of SIA standards, Swiss construction processes and contract fundamentals
Knowledge of Lean Construction Management (LCM) is an advantage
Very good German skills, English and/or French skills are an advantage
