ZurichYour Tasks
- You interpret in conversations in hospitals, social institutions, asylum centres, authorities and schools.
- You ensure communication between professionals from the fields of health, social affairs, education and foreign-language interlocutors.
- You convey what is said precisely and faithfully from one language to another, adhering to the INTERPRET professional code of conduct (confidentiality, neutrality, transparency, clarity of role, etc.).
- You interpret by telephone advantageously (only with appropriate qualification).
Your Profile
- Very good Somali skills (at least level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages CEFR)
- Very good German skills (at least level B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages CEFR)
- INTERPRET certificate or comparable interpreter training or willingness to complete training
- Resident in the canton of Zurich or neighbouring municipalities
- Basic knowledge and/or work experience in one of the deployment areas (health, social affairs, education) is an advantage
- Willingness for continuous further training, supervision and intervision
- High resilience and great flexibility regarding spontaneous assignments and travel activities
