About the job

The National Competence Centre Ageing without Violence is committed to preventing violence, abuse and discrimination against older people in Switzerland. It is supported by the three main actors from the language regions (alter ego / Pro Senectute Ticino e Moesano and the Independent Complaints Office for the Elderly UBA). It informs, raises awareness and networks specialised organisations, and guarantees advice and support to those concerned through specialised helplines.

The National Competence Centre manages a secretariat with administrative support.

a director (60%)

Through your work, you contribute to ensuring that older people facing difficult life situations receive support: you maintain the link between those concerned and the specialised helplines, raise awareness of the issue of violence against older people throughout Switzerland, and develop and strengthen the coordination and networking of organisations, institutions and specialised actors in this field.

As director, you ensure the operational management of the organisation, develop the Competence Centre and, through public relations and communication work, strengthen the organisation’s presence and impact.

You are responsible for finances and maintain close contact with the organisation’s responsible bodies and funders.

You are responsible for the internal coordination of the helplines in the language regions and supervise the administrative employee.

We are looking for a committed individual with a good network and sensitivity to social issues.

You have training in business management and experience in leading a non-profit organisation. Professional experience in the field of older people, as well as in communication and marketing, is an advantage. You are proficient in digital communication (newsletters, social media). You enjoy working independently and appreciate strategic work in consultation with the committee. You are comfortable communicating in several languages: you are bilingual (German/French) or have very good knowledge of the other language, and the challenge of trilingual communication (German/French/Italian) does not intimidate you.
