Our client supports companies in the reliable operation and modernisation of complex IT infrastructures. The focus is on stable datacentre platforms, powerful virtualisation solutions, and the gradual development of hybrid environments. As a Senior System Engineer, you plan and implement technical solutions, accompany migrations, and take on demanding tasks in 3rd-level support. You work independently on projects, contribute your experience to technical decisions, and ensure secure and comprehensible operations together with the team.
Responsibilities:
Ensuring stable operation and continuous optimisation of datacentre and virtualisation environments
Support and further development of HPE, VMware, and Veeam system landscapes
Execution of infrastructure migrations, system integrations, and modernisations
Planning and implementation of technical sub-projects in coordination with project management
Handling complex support cases and developing sustainable solutions
Support with updates, system lifecycles, and automation of operational processes
Structured documentation of system environments as well as improvement of processes and operational standards
Professional exchange and knowledge transfer within the infrastructure team
Qualifications:
IT training with a Federal VET Diploma, ideally with further qualifications at higher technical college or university of applied sciences level
Several years of professional experience with datacentre, virtualisation, or hybrid infrastructure platforms
Very good knowledge of VMware, Veeam, and HPE system environments
Practical experience in planning and implementing migrations and infrastructure modernisations
Knowledge of update management, automation, and Azure Update Management is an advantage
Experience with technical projects and coordination of infrastructure tasks
Analytical and structured approach as well as a high degree of personal responsibility
Team-oriented personality with enthusiasm for knowledge sharing
Very good German skills and good English skills, both spoken and written
