Role:

On behalf of the client, we are looking for an experienced Architect / Building Consultant for Building Construction for the technical and economic assessment of demanding construction projects in the public and institutional environment. The focus is on technical examination, construction cost assessment and quality assurance as well as advising various clients and sponsors. You assess projects across different SIA phases and create well-founded decision bases for eligible construction projects. The position is suitable for an experienced architectural professional who wishes to apply their many years of planning and realisation experience in a versatile expert and consulting role.

Responsibilities:

• Technical and construction-economic assessment of new build, conversion and refurbishment projects for public and private clients

• Examination of construction projects regarding quality, suitability, cost-effectiveness, costs and technical feasibility

• Assessment of the prerequisites for state and funding contributions and preparation of comprehensible decision bases

• Technical review of project and construction costs, cost estimates and relevant key figures as well as plausibility checks of construction cost planning

• Assessment of projects over the relevant SIA phases and contribution of well-founded experience from planning, tendering and realisation

• Consulting of public clients, municipalities, private sponsors and specialist offices on architectural, construction-technical and economic issues

• Examination of the spatial and structural suitability of properties for institutional uses as well as assessment of functional space and usage concepts

• Technical support and promotion of barrier-free and accessible building taking into account relevant standards and legal requirements

• Analysis of existing project solutions as well as development and assessment of economically and structurally viable variants

• Preparation of technical statements, expert reports and assessment reports as a basis for project and financing decisions

• Ensuring comprehensible documentation and quality assurance within the review and approval procedures

Qualifications:

• Architecture degree from ETH or FH with several years, preferably many years, of professional experience

• Solid experience in planning and realisation of demanding building construction projects, ideally also in public or institutional construction

• Very good knowledge of the relevant SIA phases as well as experience in the holistic assessment of construction projects

• Sound knowledge in construction cost planning, cost control and construction cost assessment as well as understanding of real estate economic contexts

• Knowledge of relevant SIA standards, building regulations and requirements for barrier-free building

• Experience in preparing expert reports, technical statements and decision bases

• German at a very high level with confident written expression for technically and economically demanding matters
