Role:
You want not only to fend off attacks but also to understand how they arise? In this position as a Cyber Security Engineer, you manage the security of various customer environments within the scope of Managed Security Services. Firewalls, Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), and log analyses shape your daily routine. Every customer brings new challenges and sharpens your view of threats. Here you move between operations, analysis, and projects and continuously expand your expertise.
Responsibilities:
You review alerts and security events, classify them technically, and correlate logs from server, endpoint, network, and security systems.
In the event of incidents, you analyse the causes and initiate targeted countermeasures.
You configure EDR/XDR, MFA solutions, web application firewalls as well as cloud and network firewalls and keep them stable in operation.
Additionally, you further develop existing SIEM and log management platforms.
You detect vulnerabilities with vulnerability scans and assess their risk.
Furthermore, you accompany changes, technical rollouts, and evaluations of new technologies and document your findings clearly.
Qualifications:
Several years of experience, at least 3 years, in security operations or cyber security engineering form your foundation.
You are confident in system, cloud, endpoint, and network security and know how to harden Windows and Linux systems.
You have already gained practical experience with web application firewalls, cloud and enterprise firewalls, as well as NDR, EDR, or XDR solutions.
In addition, you bring experience in log correlation, security event analysis, and incident handling.
Network protocols such as HTTP/S, TCP/IP, TLS, and DNS are as familiar to you as vulnerability scanning tools, role-based access concepts, and MFA.
You also use Python or Bash to automate recurring security tasks.
