Role:

On behalf of a client, we are looking for an experienced professional as Project Manager Execution / Construction Manager Building Construction for the independent management and realisation of demanding new build and renovation projects in an established Swiss construction company. You will take responsibility for the entire execution phase, coordinate interdisciplinary project teams and control construction processes regarding costs, deadlines, quality and occupational safety. The focus is on operational project management, tendering and awarding, contractor coordination as well as the technical and economic supervision of construction execution. The position offers comprehensive project responsibility, short decision-making paths and diverse development opportunities in building construction and construction management.

Responsibilities:

• Project management execution: Independent leadership and supervision of demanding building construction projects from execution planning to handover of the building.

• Construction management and site coordination: Organisation, control and monitoring of all construction processes, work procedures and execution stages on site.

• Leadership of project teams: Coordination and professional management of construction managers, specialist planners, contractors, specialists and other project participants.

• Scheduling and construction programme planning: Creation and monitoring of construction programmes, schedules, milestones and execution sequences.

• Cost management and construction controlling: Responsibility for project budgets, cost forecasts, cost controls and economic project execution.

• Tendering and submission: Preparation and review of specifications, tender documents, offer comparisons and award proposals.

• Award and contract management: Participation in contractor awards, contracts for work, change order management and performance changes.

• Quality assurance of construction execution: Control of execution quality, plan specifications, technical details and contractual services according to Swiss construction standards.

• Client and authority coordination: Direct coordination with clients, architects, specialist planners, authorities and executing companies.

• Occupational safety and environmental standards: Ensuring compliance with SUVA regulations, construction work ordinance, safety concepts and relevant environmental regulations.

• Invoice verification and performance controlling: Checking contractor invoices, measurements, performance records and change order claims.

• Acceptance and project completion: Organisation of construction acceptances, defect rectifications, final inspections, revision documents and building handovers.

Qualifications:

• Completed basic training in the main construction trade with further training as a certified construction manager, certified technician HF construction planning / building construction or architect FH/HTL.

• Several years of professional experience in project and construction management of building construction projects in Switzerland, especially in the execution phase of new builds and renovations.

• Sound knowledge of construction project management, especially in cost control, schedule management, construction process planning and quality assurance.

• Experience in tendering, submission, contractor awarding, contract law and change order management.

• Very good knowledge of Swiss SIA standards, especially SIA 118, as well as relevant SUVA regulations and occupational safety standards.

• Confident handling of MS Office and common construction administration software, such as Messerli Bauad, Sorba or comparable applications.

• Very good German language skills in spoken and written form for client meetings, contract negotiations, site coordination and project documentation.
