Wheelchair Sport Switzerland is the national centre of expertise for wheelchair sport. As a department of the Swiss Paraplegic Association (SPA), we promote both grassroots and elite and youth sport. We provide people in wheelchairs access to sport and exercise, create sustainable structures and contribute to talent development up to elite sport. To complement our team, we are looking for a flexible, proactive and communicative personality with knowledge of the Swiss sports system and a flair for administrative tasks.

These are your tasks

In this position, you will initially take on the maternity cover in the area of performance sport. This includes the coordination and administrative support of the Head of Performance Sport, ensuring a professional implementation of ongoing tasks and projects. After the return of the current postholder, there is the intention of continued employment with an expanded area of responsibility. This gives you the opportunity to thoroughly familiarise yourself with the tasks and structures of Wheelchair Sport Switzerland in the first phase and then contribute your skills and ideas in a further developed role.

• You are responsible for the planning, implementation, organisation, evaluation and coordination of the sports-technical, administrative and organisational tasks in performance sport
• You support the Head of Performance Sport in administrative matters
• You are responsible for the development and implementation of strategies and concepts in performance sport
• You are responsible for the administrative management and updating of regulations and licensing
• You work with national and international associations as well as with sports officials
• You take on administrative tasks for squad athletes and national teams, as well as within the framework of Swiss Olympic and regulatory sports associations
• You participate in organising committees at national and international sporting events
• You undertake editorial work in collaboration with our communications team

• You have a degree in sports science or an equivalent qualification and ideally complement this with strong administrative skills
• You work independently, organised and solution-oriented and appreciate teamwork
• You bring experience in the Swiss sports system, especially in performance sport (association activities), as well as a corresponding network
• Your very good German skills as well as good French and English skills complete your profile
• You are flexible and see weekend assignments as part of your work
• Sport and sports management are part of your life

About us

Founded in 1980, the Swiss Paraplegic Association (SPA) is the national umbrella organisation for people with spinal cord injuries with around 11,000 members. It promotes, represents and coordinates the concerns of para- and tetraplegics as well as other members throughout Switzerland. It also supports 27 regional wheelchair clubs across the country. The approximately 80 permanent employees and 170 freelancers as well as more than 2,000 volunteers and honorary workers are committed to the social, political and personal concerns of the members and engage in their reintegration and the improvement of their quality of life. The range of services includes the Institute for Legal Advice, Wheelchair Sport and Leisure (promotion of elite and grassroots sport, as well as its own travel agency), the Centre for Barrier-Free Building and the Life Counselling business area. The SPA also publishes the member magazine Paracontact and two newsletters.
