Childcare Educators

The Early Childhood Service (SDPE) is responsible for implementing the City of Geneva's policy in favour of early childhood, managing municipal childcare facilities and supporting those it subsidises. As part of maternity leave replacements in the early childhood sector Marie Goegg-Pouchoulin, which includes two nurseries, a parent-child space and a kindergarten, totalling 171 childcare places, 2 fixed-term contract Childcare Educators are sought for the early childhood care structure at various sites: SAPE Eglantyne Jebb, and SAPE Guy-Olivier Second.

Mandatory criteria (maximum 5 compulsory elements)

ES diploma as Childcare Educator from ESEDE or an equivalent qualification (SEFRI equivalence mandatory)

Proficiency in French (written, spoken)

Good adaptability

Employees of the City of Geneva must reside within the authorised residential zone and hold a valid work permit or authorisation.

Profile sought (training, experience, etc.)

You hold a recognised Childcare Educator diploma from ESEDE or an equivalent qualification recognised by SEFRI. You wish to commit yourself within a dynamic and professional team. Enthusiastic, open and caring personality, your initiative and adaptability are definite assets for this essential role in child development. Attentive, with good stress management, you are also comfortable with communication.

Mission (tasks and job content)

To complete its teams during maternity leave and long-term absence replacements, the SDPE is looking for:

- The early childhood care structure Guy-Olivier Second (1227 Acacias)
- The early childhood care structure Eglantyne Jebb (1205 Geneva)
a Childcare Educator between 70% and/or 100%

As a Childcare Educator in an extended service early childhood care structure, you organise the reception and support of children (from 0 to 4 years) while ensuring quality service in accordance with current standards. Responsible for contributing to and ensuring the implementation of the educational project of the care structure, you develop and implement educational actions linked to the pedagogical and institutional project. You accompany and supervise the activities of interns, trainees, ASE and assistants and also create a group dynamic favourable to the awakening, development and socialisation of children. You ensure the formalisation and transmission of information to families and collaborate in the preparation and facilitation of information and exchange meetings with children’s representatives. Finally, you participate in reflection groups.
