Embedded CI/CD Engineer (m/f/d)
Salary - CHF115,000 - 135,000Role:
In this role, you drive a hardware-in-the-loop CI/CD pipeline that boots and tests Linux images on real hardware hundreds of times. You are responsible for the entire chain from building Yocto or Torizon images through job dispatching in Jenkins and BuildBot to execution on the board farm setup with LAVA and custom controllers. You keep the test farm performant and stable, automate its operation, and continuously develop it for new module families. Additionally, you design the setup of the test shelves and server deployments and ensure that device control and monitoring work reliably. Through meaningful reporting, you create the decision-making basis on which development teams rely when releasing new versions.
Responsibilities:
You operate and further develop a hardware-in-the-loop CI/CD infrastructure.
You maintain a physical board farm cluster reproducibly and stably and analyse hardware prone to errors.
In this role, you make the entire delivery pipeline transparent and convert boot errors into meaningful, actionable reports.
You consider business trade-offs and align release processes with the capabilities of the infrastructure.
As an Embedded CI/CD Engineer, you work closely at the hardware/software interface including power supply, reset, and recovery lines.
You apply your deep knowledge of Linux or embedded Linux and keep up to date with current developments in the OS community.
Qualifications:
Very good Python skills for automation tools (CLIs, job templates, device control, reporting) and willingness to learn additional languages
Solid practical experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Jenkins with Groovy Shared Libraries, GitLab CI), Docker, and container-based deployment
Confident handling of hardware-related tasks and embedded Linux boot flows (serial consoles, TFTP/NFS boot, U-Boot, flashing and recovery)
Experience in building and operating reproducible, well-maintainable automation infrastructure with a focus on defined device status
Proficient in Linux system administration, especially services, udev, and network configuration
Very good German and English skills, both spoken and written
Benefits:
- Interesting and varied tasks/projects
- International environment
- Comfortable office with modern infrastructure
