Structural Engineer in Structural Design (m/f/d)

Role:

On behalf of a client, we are looking for an experienced Structural Engineer / Project Manager Structural Design for demanding building construction projects in the Zurich area. You will work on structures from conceptual development through statics and dimensioning to detailed and execution planning and, depending on experience, already take on project management responsibility. Currently, a focus lies on the realisation of a larger commercial and shopping project with demanding planning interfaces. The position combines structural engineering, project coordination and practical execution support.

Responsibilities:

• Project management or junior project management of demanding structural projects in building construction

• Development of economical and technically optimised structural and construction concepts

• Execution of static calculations, verifications and dimensioning for structures and components

• Handling structural design through the relevant SIA planning and realisation phases

• Planning structures in reinforced concrete, steel, timber and composite construction according to project requirements

• Preparation of technical reports, static documentation and calculation documents

• Development and coordination of formwork, reinforcement, construction and detail planning

• Internal and external planning coordination with architecture, building services, site management and other disciplines

• Control of structural implementation as well as technical support during construction

• Handling interfaces with excavations, foundations and specialised deep foundations

• Preparation of cost estimates and tender documents

• Ensuring compliance with relevant SIA standards, quality requirements and project specifications

Qualifications:

• Completed studies as Structural Engineer FH/ETH or comparable university degree

• At least 3-5 years of professional experience in structural design, preferably in Swiss building construction

• Solid knowledge in structural analysis, structural concept and structural engineering

• Experience in detailed and execution planning as well as interest in project management tasks

• Confident use of structural software, preferably CUBUS and/or AxisVM

• Good knowledge of relevant SIA standards and Swiss planning practice

• Good German language skills, spoken and written
