Role:
This position focuses on the physical network infrastructure: you ensure that modern network environments in buildings, data centres, and laboratory areas are reliably installed, operated, and further developed. You combine technical know-how with practical on-site work and take responsibility for installations, lifecycle projects, and collaboration with various internal and external specialist departments. You can expect a versatile role with direct influence on the quality and availability of a demanding network landscape.
Responsibilities:
Installation and assembly of network components in buildings, data centres, and laboratory environments
Processing and timely implementation of tickets in the area of network installations and network connections
Carrying out assignments during planned maintenance windows, sometimes at night or on weekends
Responsibility for warehouse and material management of network components and installation materials
Planning and execution of network-specific infrastructure projects, for example during data centre relocations as well as switch and fibre optic lifecycle projects
Support for construction projects and coordination of network-specific requirements with operational technology, facility management, and external specialist departments
Support for on-site support and network engineers with technical queries
Use and deployment of network management and monitoring tools
Qualifications:
Completed basic training as an electrical installer EFZ with further training in telematics or comparable qualification
Solid knowledge of UKV standards including fibre optics and common connector types
Experience with measurement techniques for fault analysis in fibre optic, copper, and WLAN
Very good knowledge of 19-inch installation technology
Basic knowledge of relevant network protocols as well as good knowledge of current WLAN standards
Driving licence category B and willingness to undertake regular assignments in Wädenswil, Zurich, and Winterthur
Physical suitability for lifting and carrying network equipment
High quality awareness in installations and cable laying
Independent, structured, and reliable working style
Experience in project management as well as assertiveness in dealing with internal and external contacts
Good German
