Role:
On behalf of the client, we are looking for a practical professional as Construction Manager & Construction Phase Planner in Railway Technology for demanding new build and refurbishment projects of the Swiss railway infrastructure. You will coordinate the work on site, take on client and specialist service coordination, and ensure timely, cost-effective, and quality-compliant realisation. Additionally, you will be involved in construction phase planning, construction process planning, work preparation, and resource planning. The position is also suitable for experienced site managers from infrastructure or railway construction who want to take the next step into construction management.
Responsibilities:
Construction management and coordination of new build and refurbishment projects in railway infrastructure and railway technology
Monitoring construction execution and ensuring compliance with plans, specifications, and technical requirements
Acting as client representative and specialist service coordinator during realisation
Coordination of companies, specialist planners, railway technology specialist services, and other project participants
Responsibility for quality, costs, deadlines, and construction progress
Development and coordination of construction phase, construction process, and logistics concepts
Planning construction work considering ongoing railway operations and operational restrictions
Participation in project design and work preparation (AVOR)
Planning and coordination of personnel, machinery, and other resources
Conducting and accompanying construction, coordination, and specialist service meetings
Control and documentation of completed work as well as support during acceptances and commissioning
Nationwide site deployments as well as night and track closure deployments when operationally required
Qualifications:
Technical training in the construction, infrastructure, or railway technology sector, for example site manager, HF technician, or comparable qualification
Practical professional experience in the realisation and management of construction projects
Initial experience in railway construction or railway technology is an advantage
Experience as a site manager with interest in moving into construction management is also suitable
Knowledge of construction process planning, AVOR, and site coordination
Willingness for nationwide site deployments as well as occasional night and weekend shifts
Very good German language skills and good understanding of Swiss German
Driving licence category B is an advantage
