Network & Firewall Engineer (m/f/d)
Role:
A stable and secure network forms the foundation of every high-performance IT landscape. As a Network & Firewall Engineer, you actively shape this foundation and bring your expertise in routing & switching as well as network security to bear. You can expect a complex infrastructure with exciting technical challenges. You make architectural decisions based on sound knowledge and implement them consistently.
Responsibilities:
You continuously develop the network and security architecture and align it with current requirements such as segmentation and Zero Trust
You evaluate new and existing infrastructure components such as switches, routers, access points and firewalls and commission them
You design and optimise WLAN environments including coverage, roaming and secure authentication via 802.1X
In addition, you maintain firewall rule sets, VPN connections and VLAN structures
You analyse faults on layers 2 to 7 and resolve them in a structured manner
Furthermore, you drive the further development of the network infrastructure significantly and document your solutions comprehensibly
Qualifications:
You have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, cyber security or a comparable qualification
You bring sound know-how in network technologies and protocols such as OSPF, BGP, STP and DHCP
You have practical experience with enterprise WLAN and next-generation firewalls
Additionally, you have a confident understanding of IT security concepts such as network access control, IDS/IPS and network segmentation
Curiosity drives you and you deepen your product and technology knowledge on your own initiative
Moreover, you communicate confidently in German and negotiate technical topics just as confidently in English
