At our development centre in Wil, we realise products for leading, forward-looking companies. We support our international clients with innovations, new technologies, and transition product developments into series production and approvals. To strengthen our "Health & Life Sciences" team, we are looking for you as a Systems Engineer.

Area of Activity

Together with an interdisciplinary team of engineers, scientists, and industrial designers, you develop innovative products and systems for international clients from the fields of medical technology, diagnostics, life sciences, and automation. As a Systems Engineer, you take on a central role in system development and accompany complex technical solutions from the initial idea through system architecture and concept development to realisation and verification.

Thanks to your broad technical understanding, you work at the interface between mechanics, electronics, firmware, software, and automation. You analyse customer requirements, develop technical solution approaches, and ensure that the various disciplines are combined into a powerful overall system. In doing so, you work closely with our clients and contribute significantly to recognising technical challenges early and developing robust, economical solutions.

In customer projects, you take responsibility for defining requirements, elaborating system and architecture concepts, and the technical coordination between internal specialists and external partners. Professional excellence, creativity, and a high quality awareness are at the centre of your daily work. You will have the opportunity to participate in demanding development projects for globally active corporations, innovative SMEs, and technology-oriented start-ups and continuously expand your knowledge in different industries and technologies. In the process, you gradually take on more responsibility in technical project management, direct client contact, and the strategic expansion of our client relationships.

Requirements

• University degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics, systems engineering, robotics, or a comparable technical field (ETH, EPFL, TU or FH)
• Initial industry experience (approx. 1 to 3 years) in the development of technical systems, ideally in the fields of medical technology, life sciences, or automation
• Broad technical understanding in systems engineering with knowledge of embedded electronics, firmware architectures, communication interfaces, and automation systems
• Ability to analyse customer needs and translate them into technical system concepts and viable solution approaches
• Enjoyment of direct client contact as well as participation in early customer, innovation, and acquisition discussions
• Interest in preparing offers, defining work packages, and technical concepts for demanding development projects
• Experience or interest in developing system architectures, technology evaluations, and make-or-buy analyses
• Analytical and structured working style with pronounced system understanding and enjoyment of conceptual issues
• Ability to identify technical risks early, conduct feasibility studies, and derive well-founded technical decisions
• Entrepreneurial personality with high social and communication skills and enjoyment of working in interdisciplinary teams
• Enthusiasm for innovative technologies and diverse tasks in different industries and application areas
• Very good German and English skills, both spoken and written
