The Clinic for Radio-Oncology cares for patients in an outpatient setting along the entire treatment pathway – from the initial consultation to aftercare. To specifically relieve our medical team and strengthen continuity in patient care, we are creating the new role of Physician Associate (PA). For this, we are looking for a committed individual to complement our medical team and actively contribute to the further development of the clinic.
Who we are
Your tasks
- You take on – by delegation and under medical supervision – defined tasks in the outpatient care of radio-oncological patients.
- You conduct structured assessments and follow-up checks (e.g. during ongoing radiotherapy), recognise side effects early and support symptom and side effect management according to standards.
- You coordinate diagnostic and therapeutic measures (e.g. laboratories, imaging, consultations, supportive services) and ensure smooth process and interface coordination.
- You undertake documentation and coordination tasks on behalf of and in consultation with the treating physicians.
- You work closely with nursing, RFPs, medical physics/dosimetry and other interprofessional services.
- You actively help shape the further development of the PA role profile in outpatient radio-oncology and contribute to treatment pathways and standards.
Your profile
- You have training as a Dipl. Nurse HF/FH (or a comparable clinical basic training) and several years of professional experience – ideally in an acute somatic hospital and/or in an oncological environment.
- Ideally, you hold a BSc in Nursing and/or further training in Physician Associate CAS 1. Alternatively, you bring relevant further training (e.g. oncology, anaesthesia/intensive care nursing) and are keen to develop specifically towards the PA role.
- You have a very good medical understanding, work in a structured way and like to take responsibility.
- You communicate clearly and empathetically, coordinate reliably and enjoy working in a team.
- You enjoy helping to shape new paths and further develop the PA role in radio-oncology.
