Job Description
The ideal apprenticeship for handy tinkerers with a passion for technology and natural sciences!
With a team of scientists, you will work on groundbreaking research projects and help shape the future. With logical understanding, you will dive into the world of physical-technical topics and, in collaboration with international colleagues, turn your brilliant ideas into reality:
- Conventional material processing
- Creating CAD designs
- Developing and understanding electronic circuits and producing PCB designs
- Conducting measurements of physical quantities such as temperature, pressure, voltage and force
- Recording and evaluating data and measurement series
- Manufacturing and assembling prototypes
- Programming
- Photography
The training lasts 4 years and mainly takes place on the Hönggerberg campus of ETH. During the apprenticeship, you will rotate your place of work according to the rotation principle and thus get to know ETH from different perspectives. You will gain insight into various research groups with different technical focuses (vacuum technology, micro- and nanotechnology, optics, construction, electronics and other exciting areas).

You need a compulsory school leaving certificate for this vocational training and good grades in the following school subjects:
- Natural sciences
- Mathematics
- German
- English
