Role:
On behalf of the client, we are looking for an experienced professional as Project Manager: Structural Planning / Civil Engineer for demanding building construction projects in a national and international environment. You will develop innovative and economical structural concepts for new buildings and structural conversions and accompany the projects from the concept and preliminary design phase to realisation. In addition to technical project responsibility, you will lead an interdisciplinary project team and coordinate collaboration with clients, architects, general planners, and contractors. The position combines demanding structural planning, static calculation, and structural engineering with comprehensive project and leadership responsibility.
Responsibilities:
Independent project management of demanding structural projects in structural engineering from the concept phase to realisation
Development and optimisation of structural concepts for residential buildings, public buildings, high-rises, and other complex building projects
Handling of new buildings, conversions, and interventions in existing load-bearing structures considering structural and economic requirements
Execution and technical control of static calculations, structural analyses, and dimensioning
Dimensioning of structures and components made of reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete, steel, timber, and masonry according to project-specific requirements
Leadership and technical coordination of a project team of civil engineers and designers
Close collaboration with clients, architects, general planners, specialist planners, and contractors
Management of projects through the relevant SIA planning phases, especially from preliminary design and construction design to execution
Technical support and quality assurance of formwork, reinforcement, construction, and execution plans
Responsibility for deadlines, fees, resources, technical quality, and project documentation within the projects managed
Support of execution through site inspections, technical clarifications, and assessment of execution details until completion of the shell construction
Ensuring structural planning according to relevant SIA standards and recognised rules of structural engineering
Qualifications:
Completed master’s degree in Civil Engineering MSc ETH/FH/TU with a focus on structural engineering or comparable specialisation
Several years of professional experience in structural planning and project management of demanding building projects
Sound knowledge in structural analysis, structural design, dimensioning, and structural detailing
Experience in technical leadership of civil engineers and designers
Very good knowledge of relevant SIA standards as well as experience with industry-standard static/FEM and CAD/BIM software
Experience with new buildings and structural conversions as well as complex structural solutions
Fluent German and English skills in spoken and written form
