Civil Engineer Infrastructure Construction (m/f/d)

Role:

On behalf of a client, we are looking for an experienced professional for project management and planning of demanding infrastructure and civil engineering projects in an established engineering environment. You will take responsibility for the design, coordination and realisation of road construction, railway construction and utility projects and accompany construction projects from the initial feasibility study to execution. The focus is on transport infrastructure, general civil engineering, technical design as well as cost, schedule and quality management in compliance with applicable Swiss standards. The position offers a diverse project spectrum with high professional responsibility and the opportunity to actively shape project development, client support and acquisition of new engineering contracts.

Responsibilities:

• Project management and specialist planning in infrastructure construction with a focus on road construction, railway construction, utility construction and general civil engineering

• Design according to SIA phases from feasibility study and preliminary planning through construction project to tendering and execution

• Road and traffic route construction including alignment, road cross-sections, junctions, pavement structures and drainage systems

• Planning and coordination of railway infrastructure projects with handling of construction-technical issues in the track environment, access facilities and adjacent infrastructure constructions

• Utility planning and coordination of utilities for water, wastewater, electrical, telecommunications and other supply infrastructures

• Technical calculations and dimensioning including road drainage, earthworks, foundation layers and structural civil engineering solutions

• Preparation of project and tender documents with technical reports, cost estimates, specifications and tender documents

• Cost, schedule and quality management including budget control, project controlling, scheduling and monitoring of technical quality requirements

• Coordination of interdisciplinary project teams with clients, authorities, specialist planners, traffic planners, utility owners and contractors

• Technical support during construction execution with assistance to site management, review of execution documents and handling of construction-technical issues

• Project organisation and risk management with monitoring of project milestones, technical interfaces, approval procedures and project risks

• Acquisition and tendering with support in preparing engineering offers, fee calculations, project presentations and winning new infrastructure projects

Qualifications:

• Completed studies as a civil engineer FH or ETH, Bachelor or Master, specialising in civil engineering, transport infrastructure or a comparable field

• Several years of professional experience in planning and designing civil engineering and infrastructure projects, especially in Swiss road construction and general civil engineering

• Solid expertise in road construction, utility construction and transport infrastructure as well as ideally experience with railway infrastructure projects

• Knowledge of Swiss SIA and VSS standards as well as relevant planning, tendering and execution processes in infrastructure construction

• Experience in project management, cost planning, schedule management and tendering as well as technical coordination of interdisciplinary project teams

• Good user knowledge of CAD and civil engineering planning software, for example AutoCAD, Civil 3D or comparable systems, as well as Microsoft Office

• Very good German language skills in spoken and written form for technical reports, project documents, authority clarifications and professional coordination
