A stable network goes unnoticed, but an unstable one is noticed by everyone. This is exactly where you come in as a Network Engineer (Routing, Switching & Firewall), combining network technology with security into a robust unit. You shape the further development of the firewall landscape and the entire infrastructure. You think architecturally but also get hands-on when things get technically challenging.
Responsibilities:
You are responsible for planning, building, and operating LAN, WAN, and WLAN throughout the company
You ensure the stability, availability, and scalability of the network environment
Additionally, you configure the firewall systems, operate them daily, and advance them technically
When complex faults occur, you take on analysis in 2nd and 3rd level support and find viable solutions
Together with system and security engineers, you design a seamless overall architecture and advise internal contacts on network and security issues
You also keep documentation, standards, and operating concepts up to date and actively contribute to agile working methods and knowledge exchange
Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or an equivalent qualification forms your foundation
As a network engineer, you bring several years of professional experience
You are confident in routing, switching, VLAN, DNS, Virtual Private Network (VPN), and handling certificates
Furthermore, you know network protocols such as OSPF and BGP in detail and understand the interrelations of system security
You work in a structured and independent manner, prioritise effectively, and value clean work. You enjoy mentoring young talents and translate technical topics understandably for non-specialists and customers
You are fluent in both German and English, spoken and written, and are available for maintenance windows, emergency deployments, and on-call duties in the evenings or at weekends
