About the job
The Architecture and Housing Service is a planning, construction and support service that ensures the consideration of all public policies related to the built environment and housing. It includes the "Prevention of Construction Site Accidents" unit, responsible for ensuring that construction sites in the city do not pose a danger to users of public spaces. To strengthen our team, we are looking for our new construction site safety officer

Main Mission(s)
Analyse construction projects submitted for authorisation and provide written directives to architects or private owners regarding safety (site safety, public safety, worker safety)
Ensure and monitor compliance with and application of contractual safety directives on construction sites
Ensure the conformity and safety of installations interacting with public spaces and prevent accidents
Order work stoppage in case of infringement and represent the municipality before judicial authorities
Collaborate with municipal or cantonal services regarding construction site safety and participate in various coordination and information meetings
Exercise police authority autonomously by making formative decisions or reporting legal violations to the Prefect
Profile
Architect or ETS/HES engineer training or equivalent qualification
Additional certified training in prevention of construction site accidents
Minimum 5 years of professional experience in construction and site management, including 2 years as a construction site safety specialist
Mastery of occupational safety legislation (ordinances and regulations) and road signalling (LCR)
Knowledge of public administration operations is an asset
Dynamic, autonomous, methodical personality with a global vision
Priority management and stress resistance
Listening and communication skills, courtesy and impartiality
Proficiency in MS Office tools and knowledge of Autocad
