As a cantonal public law institution, the CNP is tasked with leading the health policy of the canton of Neuchâtel in the field of mental health, in collaboration with partner institutions. The CNP aims to rehabilitate patients suffering from mental disorders through the adoption of an integrated and community psychiatry model; it implements public policies for the promotion and prevention of mental health; it acts as a reference centre in the field of professional training and research in psychiatry.

The Medical Directorate is seeking, within the Adult Department, Emergency, Liaison, Hospital Unit (ULH) and to lead the emergency and liaison units, its future

The Psychiatric Emergency Centre (CUP) and the liaison psychiatry unit are part of the ULH service, which also includes three hospitalisation units at Préfargier (25 FTE each). This ensemble ensures continuity of care, from emergency to hospitalisation, in a coordinated and integrated approach.

The CUP provides assessment and management of acute crisis situations, in close connection with the Neuchâtel General Hospital and the care network. It offers a rapid and coordinated response, enabling the stabilisation of situations, directing patients, and ensuring continuity of care. Comprising a multidisciplinary team of approximately 26 FTE, the unit mobilises medical, nursing, and psychological skills in a logic of reactivity and coordination.

The liaison unit intervenes with patients hospitalised in somatic care or currently followed and referred, presenting psychiatric disorders. It provides care at the interface of somatic and mental health, supporting patients, their relatives, and hospital teams. Comprising a multidisciplinary team of approximately 10 FTE, it contributes to a global and integrated approach to care.

You hold an FMH postgraduate title in psychiatry and psychotherapy or an equivalent title recognised by MEBEKO, have several years of experience in a Deputy Physician position, with successful managerial experience, and wish to join a recognised institution specialised in mental health.

As part of your role you will be required to:

o Ensure the quality and coherence of care in the 2 units, coordinate medical activity in connection with colleagues and network partners

o Develop direct and continuous clinical practice with patients

o Assist and replace the chief medical officer in the medical management of the services

o Supervise and participate in all activities of the 2 units

o Contribute to the development of specific therapeutic approaches and develop plans and programmes necessary to achieve the objectives decided by the medical management and the department

o Organise and develop collaboration with partner institutions (general hospital, police/justice…)

o Participate in the updating and development of diagnostic and therapeutic methods used

o Contribute to the institution's research activity

o Participate in continuing education and supervision activities

o Contribute to the evaluation and continuous improvement of clinical practices

The skills required for this position are as follows:

o Possess an FMH postgraduate specialist title in psychiatry and psychotherapy or an equivalent title recognised by MEBEKO, and ideally an additional title in liaison psychiatry.

o Have a minimum of 3 years' experience in a psychiatrist, chief of clinic or equivalent position, ideally with the relevant public

o Additionally, have had the opportunity to successfully manage a multidisciplinary unit/team for several years, to carry a vision and support change

o Have an interdisciplinary team and network working spirit

o Demonstrate leadership and have a sense of planning, negotiation and flexibility

o Possess listening skills and collegiality
