The Vaud Hospitals Federation IT ( FHVi ) is the preferred IT partner of 12 hospitals and regional health institutions in the canton of Vaud. FHVi supports them in the many challenges of digital transformation in the healthcare sector and its main missions are to plan, design, implement and operate the IT system of its members. There are more than 130 employees serving 14,000 users, with a fleet of over 8,000 workstations spread across around one hundred geographical sites and three cantons (VD, VS, FR).

FHVi is looking for a Network Engineer to support the transformation of its infrastructures and ensure the performance, resilience and security of networks serving healthcare institutions.
Your mission:
Within the Networks team of the Infrastructure department, you will contribute to the design, evolution and support of the LAN, WAN and datacentre networks of FHVi and its partner institutions, spread over around one hundred sites. You will participate in strengthening security, authenticating users and devices connected to the network, filtering, segmentation, as well as implementing technologies ensuring high network availability.
Your main activities and responsibilities:
- Handling service requests from our institutions and business application managers (ticket management, network and security tool configuration)
- Managing incidents on the FHVi network and those of the institutions
- Configuring the network for new medical and technical solutions (PCs, servers, IoT devices, mobility, etc.)
- Responsible for monitoring, ensuring network performance and availability.
- Participating in LAN (wired and Wi-Fi), WAN and datacentre network evolution projects
- Deploying new network and security standards on remote sites
- Improving network security (filtering, NAC authentication, proxy)
- Participating in the on-call service
Profile sought:
Education & experience
- Higher education in IT (Bachelor or Master), or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 5-10 years’ experience as a network engineer or in a similar role, ideally in a complex multi-site environment.
Technical skills
- Good knowledge of routing and switching on Cisco equipment
- Good knowledge of Fortinet Firewall technologies or equivalent (clusters, zoning, L4/L7 filtering)
- A CCNA (minimum) or CCNP certification is highly desirable
- Experience with Aruba Wi-Fi solutions or equivalent is a plus
- Knowledge of NAC 802.1x is a plus (Cisco ISE)
- Knowledge of Ivanti Connect Secure
- Knowledge of Efficient IP (DHCP, DNS)
- Knowledge of scripting, automation and management tools is a plus
- Familiar with Microsoft, Linux technologies and open source tools
