Role:
In this role, as an experienced professional, you design the architecture and further development of complex database systems, ensuring a powerful, stable and secure data foundation. You are responsible for the conception, implementation and optimisation of database structures and processes to reliably support business-critical applications. You analyse existing solutions, identify potential for performance improvement and implement demanding requirements in scalable, future-proof database designs. You contribute your senior expertise to define standards, best practices and quality guidelines and ensure their consistent application. In addition, you advise other professionals on database-related issues, thereby making a significant contribution to well-founded, data-driven decisions.
Responsibilities:
You are responsible for the design, engineering and operation of our central data platforms including monitoring
You specify system architectures and software solutions and define the necessary technical resources
In this role, you lead projects and technical lifecycle initiatives, ensuring quality, deadlines and budget
You advise internal stakeholders on architecture, security, performance and operational issues related to our services
As a Database Infrastructure Engineer, you promote the further development of the team with your open and empathetic manner
In this role, you take on on-call duties for our platforms and ensure quality, security and availability together with external partners
Qualifications:
- You have a university degree (HF or higher) in computer science, systems engineering or an equivalent further education.
- You have solid experience in building, operating and further developing highly available MS-SQL environments (AlwaysOn), including performance tuning, security, upgrades and disaster recovery.
- You are proficient in T-SQL and Powershell scripting; knowledge of MySQL, MariaDB or Oracle is an advantage.
- You have practical experience with Azure SQL Database as well as Azure SQL Managed Instances.
- You are willing to also support integration topics such as streaming with Kafka or IBM webMethods ESB.
- Very good German and good English skills, both spoken and written, complete your profile.
