Embedded Software Engineer Firmware Development (m/f/d)
Salary - CHF105,000 - 125,000Role:
Dive into the world of safety-critical systems and shape the foundation of modern evacuation solutions as an Embedded Software Engineer Firmware Development. In this role, you take on the conception, development, and optimisation of firmware for embedded systems, from requirements analysis to series production. You are responsible for implementing efficient and reliable software architectures, including implementation, testing, debugging, and documentation. Additionally, you drive the continuous improvement of existing firmware platforms and contribute your expertise to interdisciplinary development projects. Through your structured, quality-conscious work, you make a significant contribution to safe, standards-compliant products.
Responsibilities:
- You develop hardware-near firmware solutions from specification to release.
- You take responsibility for implementing demanding functions in the firmware.
- In this role, you actively shape the architecture and design of the embedded software.
- You work closely with hardware and development teams to realise optimal system solutions.
- In this role, you test, validate, and optimise firmware functions for reliable operation.
Qualifications:
- You have a university of applied sciences degree and solid practical experience in firmware development for embedded systems in C (C++ advantageous), including bare-metal and/or RTOS environments as well as hardware-near development (BSP, drivers, peripherals).
- You are familiar with communication protocols such as TCP/UDP and CAN and ideally have experience with MQTT.
- You take on feature-owner responsibility for architecture and features end-to-end – from specification through implementation to release and field feedback.
- You work confidently with Git/GitLab, static analysis/linting, code reviews, and a CI-close development approach (e.g. GitLab CI).
- You communicate very confidently in German, both spoken and written, and value teamwork.
- You stand out with enthusiasm for demanding technical products and a willingness to continuously develop your expertise.
