Project Engineer Hydraulic Engineering (m/f/d)
Salary - CHF90,000 - 95,000Role:
On behalf of a client, we are looking for a committed specialist for project planning in hydraulic engineering, urban water management, and municipal infrastructure planning. You will handle diverse engineering projects from feasibility studies through hydraulic calculations to execution planning and develop sustainable solutions for water bodies and infrastructure facilities. The focus is on hydraulic modelling with HEC-RAS 1D/2D, hydraulic engineering calculations, technical project reports, and interdisciplinary coordination of planning and execution processes. The position offers the opportunity to specifically expand existing expertise, take on increasing project responsibility, and develop towards independent project management in the long term.
Responsibilities:
Participation in hydraulic engineering and urban infrastructure projects from basic analysis and feasibility study through project planning to construction execution
Hydraulic calculations and modelling with HEC-RAS 1D/2D to examine flow conditions, water levels, and flooding scenarios
Planning of watercourse maintenance and rehabilitation measures with development of technically feasible and ecologically compatible solutions
Hydrological and hydraulic basic analyses with evaluation of flow data, terrain models, and project-specific watercourse information
Creation of hydraulic engineering concepts and project variants with assessment of technical, economic, and environmental requirements
Project planning of municipal urban infrastructures with involvement in renewal, maintenance, and rehabilitation projects
Preparation of technical reports and decision-making bases including calculation proofs, variant comparisons, and engineering documentation
Coordination of interdisciplinary project teams with alignment between civil engineers, environmental specialists, planners, and other project participants
Collaboration with municipalities, authorities, and external partners to clarify technical requirements and project-relevant framework conditions
Application of hydraulic engineering standards and guidelines considering legal requirements, safety standards, and sustainable planning principles
Support of project management in scheduling, project organisation, technical coordination, and monitoring of defined project goals
Gradual assumption of independent project tasks with responsibility for calculations, technical subprojects, and quality assurance of prepared documents
Qualifications:
Completed studies in civil engineering at FH or ETH or a comparable engineering education specialising in hydraulic engineering or environmental technology
Interest in hydraulic engineering, hydraulics, and urban water management as well as motivation for professional deepening in planning and rehabilitation of municipal infrastructure facilities
Basic knowledge of hydrological and hydraulic calculation methods; experience with HEC-RAS 1D/2D or comparable modelling software is an advantage
Technical understanding of watercourse processes and hydraulic engineering structures as well as interest in sustainable and practical engineering solutions
Knowledge of relevant Swiss standards and guidelines in hydraulic engineering or willingness to familiarise oneself with the corresponding legal and technical fundamentals
Independent, structured, and analytical working style with teamwork skills, willingness to learn, and interest in gradually taking on project responsibility
Good German language skills in spoken and written form for technical reports, project documentation, and communication with authorities, clients, and planners
Benefits:
- Interesting and varied activities/projects
- Attractive training and development opportunities
- Experienced and dynamic team
- Market- and performance-based salaries
