Role:

Secure networks do not happen by chance but through sound engineering and a clear overview. This is exactly where you come in as a Senior Firewall & Network Engineer. Your core topics are network and security with a focus on Fortinet and HPE Aruba. At the same time, you are attracted to overarching infrastructure projects where you can apply your broad expertise. After a short induction, you work independently and plan your work with plenty of freedom.

Responsibilities:

• You are responsible for managing customer networks, including support during ongoing operations

• You design modern customer environments and configure solutions for switching, routing, WLAN, and firewalls

• You take full responsibility for demanding IT projects, from the initial concept to final acceptance

• Furthermore, you optimise existing security architectures and contribute to broadly based infrastructure initiatives

• You proactively share your strengths with colleagues and benefit in return from their experience

• Additionally, you keep your expertise up to date and consciously think outside the box on new topics

Qualifications:

• A completed IT education with professional experience forms your basis; alternatively, you are close to completing a part-time degree

• You have in-depth knowledge of switching, routing, and WLAN, demonstrated by certification at CCNA or CCNP level or equivalent

• You are very confident in the Aruba environment and also very familiar with FortiGate firewalls, ideally with current manufacturer certificates

• Moreover, you are enthusiastic about technical IT security, such as proxy solutions, 802.1X-based access control with RADIUS, as well as Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and certificate management

• You understand Windows servers and clients as well as virtualisation in interaction and think across systems

• Furthermore, you appreciate direct contact with customers, communicate authentically, and keep a cool head in hectic phases, even when extra effort is required
