Role:

As an ICT System Engineer Network, you ensure that a modern network not only runs but also withstands attacks. You think in zones, access rights, and protection levels rather than individual devices. At the same time, you keep an eye on servers, directory services, and Microsoft 365. It never gets boring, as topics like SD-WAN and network access control are already on the agenda.

Responsibilities:

• You design a detailed segmentation with VLANs and micro-segmentation and drive the development of a zero-trust architecture.

• You strengthen the protection of the environment with precise firewall rules, secure VPN connections, and effective IDS/IPS mechanisms.

• You operate the network infrastructure with Fortinet firewalls, switches, and WLAN, further develop it, and consistently harden it.

• Furthermore, you tackle challenging faults in 3rd-level support and find sustainable solutions.

• You maintain Active Directory (AD) as well as the Microsoft 365 environment and expand the virtualised server landscape under Hyper-V.

• In addition, you actively shape new projects such as Network Access Control (NAC), software-defined WAN, and the automation of network processes.

Qualifications:

• Your career is based on a basic IT education or comparable practical experience in everyday work.

• You have solid know-how in routing, switching, and VLAN concepts, for example with Cisco or similar manufacturers.

• You are very familiar with the administration of next-generation firewalls. An NSE certification rounds off your profile.

• Furthermore, you master Windows infrastructure services such as AD, DNS, and DHCP as well as virtualisation confidently.

• Concepts such as defence in depth and the principle of least privilege are lived practice for you.

• In addition, you approach complex issues in a structured manner, remain curious, and enjoy trying out new technologies.
