Integrated Management System & Operational Excellence Manager

In response to the development of new infrastructures and the evolution of its activities and organisation, tl wishes to strengthen its process-based operation by deploying an integrated management system (IMS), serving performance, risk control, quality, and operational excellence.

A key player in mobility in French-speaking Switzerland, the public transport services of the Lausanne region (tl) continue their ambitious development, notably supported by strategic transformation projects.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Strategy and Business Transformation Directorate, you will take responsibility for the Quality & Operational Excellence unit, composed of six people, including an Operational Excellence Manager, project managers, and specialists.

Your priority will be to design and deploy tl’s integrated management system, then ensure its adoption and ongoing development.

Your responsibilities will notably include:

• Conducting a diagnosis of the current situation to identify existing practices, their maturity level, and main areas for improvement.
• Defining and deploying the architecture, governance, and operating principles of the IMS.
• Building and evolving the process map and supporting process owners in defining roles, indicators, and management methods.
• Ensuring the coherent integration of various systems: safety and security, risk management, financial control, business continuity, information security, and document management.
• Making the IMS a genuine management and performance tool, in close collaboration with the company’s various departments.
• Leading, with your team, the operational excellence approach by supporting business units in identifying and implementing improvement levers.

Beyond managing your team, you play a key role in the organisation’s transformation. You translate strategic challenges into concrete actions and unite cross-functional teams around common priorities.

Candidate Profile

You hold a higher education degree in engineering, business management, operations management, quality, or equivalent.

You must have proven experience in designing, building, and deploying an integrated management system within a complex organisation.

You master process-based management, quality, and operational excellence approaches.

You combine systemic vision with practical insight.

Beyond defining the framework, you enjoy implementing and supporting change directly with the business units.

You have experience managing expert teams and cross-functional projects.

You know how to persuade, unite, and work effectively with diverse stakeholders.

You have excellent command of French. German is an asset.
