Head of System Engineering

As Head of System Engineering, you are responsible for the strategic and operational management of the System Engineering department. Together with your team, you ensure a stable, secure and future-oriented ICT infrastructure and continuously develop it further. You take on the technical and personnel leadership of the team, coordinate demanding infrastructure projects and ensure that modern technologies are introduced efficiently and sustainably. In close cooperation with internal specialist departments, ICT management and external partners, you actively shape the technological development of our organisation.

Your tasks

• You lead the System Engineering team technically and personally and promote the continuous development of your employees
• You are responsible for the stable, secure and economical operation of the entire ICT infrastructure
• You further develop the system and infrastructure strategy in coordination with ICT management and implement it together with your team
• You ensure the availability, performance, stability and security of the ICT systems
• You are responsible for the operation and further development of the Microsoft environment (Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365 and Entra ID)
• You ensure the reliable operation of the virtualisation, storage, backup and recovery solutions
• You coordinate collaboration with internal specialist departments, external service providers and suppliers
• You evaluate new technologies, identify optimisation potential and drive the standardisation and automation of the ICT infrastructure
• You support your team with complex technical issues and escalations in 2nd and 3rd level support

Your profile

• You have completed training in computer science (EFZ, HF, FH or equivalent), ideally supplemented by further training in leadership or ICT management
• You bring several years of professional experience as a system engineer as well as experience in a leadership or technical coordination role
• You have sound knowledge of Microsoft technologies, virtualisation as well as server, storage, network and cloud infrastructures
• You have experience in project management as well as in planning and implementing complex ICT projects
• You have a strong understanding of ICT security, backup, monitoring and security solutions
• You convince with a solution-oriented, structured and entrepreneurial way of working
• You have strong leadership, communication and organisational skills and know how to motivate and develop employees
• You communicate appropriately for the target audience at all hierarchical levels and have very good German and good English skills (additional language skills are an advantage)
