Role:
In this position, you support customers worldwide with the diagnosis and resolution of complex faults in automated systems and ensure reliable system operation. You analyse control and network issues remotely, coordinate technical solutions with internal specialist departments, and accompany customers during critical ramp-up phases. With your expertise in PLC technology, IT/OT systems, and automation, you act as a central interface between customers, the service organisation, and engineering.
Responsibilities:
Conducting remote diagnostics and systematic fault analysis on modern automation systems
Analysing technical faults and guiding customers in efficient troubleshooting in German and English
Coordinating, prioritising, and escalating complex issues to the responsible specialist departments
Using PLC programmes for diagnosis and optimisation of automated systems
Analysing and supporting queries related to IT/OT networks and industrial communication
Documenting faults, solutions, and measures via a digital ticket system
Supporting international customers during system ramp-ups and commissioning
Conducting technical training and instruction for operating and maintenance personnel
Contributing to the continuous improvement of support processes and technical standards
Qualifications:
Completed technical training as a System Technician HF, Automation Technician EFZ, or a comparable qualification
Experience in programming, parameterising, and diagnosing PLC controls with Siemens S7 / TIA Portal
Knowledge in fault analysis of automated systems and industrial control systems
Understanding of IT/OT infrastructures, networks, and technical communication systems is an advantage
High degree of independence and responsibility in supporting customers from the remote office
Analytical thinking as well as structured and solution-oriented approach
Communicative and team-oriented personality with enthusiasm for international customer contact
Willingness to collaborate with various technical specialist departments
Good English skills, French skills are an advantage
Fluent German skills
