Role:

Cyberattacks are becoming more sophisticated, and that is exactly why people are needed who can correctly interpret alarms. In this position as a Cyber Security Engineer, you ensure that customer environments remain well protected within the framework of Managed Security Services. The focus is on Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), modern firewalls, and Extended Detection and Response (XDR). You combine technical craftsmanship with analytical intuition. You like to test new technologies yourself before they are deployed.

Responsibilities:

• You analyse logs from networks, endpoints, servers, and security systems and optimise existing SIEM and log management solutions.

• In the event of security incidents, you get involved and initiate technical countermeasures.

• You configure network and cloud firewalls, web application firewalls, as well as security policies, and manage MFA and XDR solutions in operation.

• Furthermore, you monitor incoming alerts and classify them based on technical analysis.

• In addition, you participate in vulnerability scans, review identified weaknesses, and support technical rollouts and changes.

• You also document configurations and incidents thoroughly and contribute to proof of concepts for new security technologies.

Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of experience in security engineering or in a security operations environment distinguish you.

• You are familiar with enterprise and cloud firewalls and have practical experience with endpoint detection and response (EDR), XDR, or NDR.

• Log correlation and event analysis across various sources are among your strengths, as is the structured handling of incidents.

• You are also confident in Linux and Windows security and understand network protocols such as DNS, TLS, HTTP/S, and TCP/IP in detail.

• You bring solid knowledge in vulnerability management and understand identity and access concepts including MFA and role-based permissions.

• Additionally, you use Bash or Python to automate recurring security tasks.
