Senior Industrial Engineer (M/F)
Company Description
Our client supports a French-speaking Swiss industrial company (machine construction / heavy equipment) in the transformation of its production site: layout rationalisation, make/buy decisions, associated multi-year investment plan. The process is based on co-construction workshops with production teams, conducted in two parallel streams in September, under a tight schedule (budget milestone in October).
Job Description
Your task will be to assist the project director in facilitating the workshops: take charge of one of the two streams, challenge layouts and physical flows with engineers/workshop managers and business referents, identify and prioritise quantifiable investment options, within a common methodological framework provided (process to frame / open / close, prepared materials) to arrive at 3 levels of scenarios.
We are looking for someone to manage a second stream in parallel. A stream simply consists of 2 to 4 themes corresponding to sequences of workshops (2 to 4 depending on the themes) which will follow the same process logic (example themes: painting, running-in, assembly, etc.)
Profile Sought
Profile sought.
- Industrial engineer (or equivalent) with 10-15 years or more of operational production experience — factories, flows, methods; a background as a manager or workshop leader is a plus. Experienced profiles at the end of their career or semi-retired are welcome, the client wishes to have someone with added value.
- Knowledge of field optimisation tools: Lean or Six Sigma, VSM, flow diagrams, sizing of industrial layouts.
- Credibility and ease with field teams: ability to listen, challenge without imposing, and bring a group to consensus within 3 hours of session.
- Fluent French is essential (workshops in French).
Terms. Approximately 8 to 12 days in September 2026, possibly until early/mid October (3-hour sessions + feedback, up to 2 to 4 sessions per week + convergence session between themes), on site less than 50 km from Lausanne, accessible by transport, starting week of 8 September but ideally meeting together the week of 31 August.
