Construction Manager Building Construction (m/f/d)

Role:

On behalf of a client, we are looking for an experienced and strong leadership professional for the project and construction management of demanding building construction projects in upscale residential construction. You will take overall responsibility for the realisation of high-quality condominiums and manage the construction projects from project preparation to turnkey handover. The focus is on coordinating all project participants, ensuring costs, quality and deadlines, as well as the economical and technically flawless execution of construction. The position combines independent construction management, entrepreneurial thinking and operational leadership skills with a long-term development perspective towards department management and possible assumption of an executive management role.

Responsibilities:

• Overall responsibility for the project and construction management of demanding building construction projects with a focus on high-quality condominiums

• Independent management of construction projects from execution preparation to turnkey handover to clients and owners

• Organisation, coordination and supervision of all construction processes to ensure efficient and high-quality project realisation

• Responsibility for cost, schedule and quality management including budget control, construction programmes and ongoing monitoring of project progress

• Leadership and coordination of specialist planners, construction companies, craft businesses and other project partners throughout the various execution phases

• Coordination with authorities and responsible specialist offices to ensure compliance with building law and technical requirements

• Participation in tenders, offer comparisons and contractor awards including preparation and review of contracts for work

• Responsibility for construction administration and project controlling including invoice verification, change order management and cost forecasts

• Organisation and leadership of construction and coordination meetings as well as consistent follow-up of agreed measures and project decisions

• Monitoring of execution quality and constructive detail implementation with particular focus on high-quality materials, surfaces and finishing standards

• Conducting and coordinating construction inspections, defect controls and apartment handovers including ensuring complete project documentation

• Participation in the further development of internal project management processes and leadership structures with a perspective on later management of the construction management area

Qualifications:

• Completed construction-technical education, for example as a certified construction manager building construction, architect FH/ETH or certified technician HF construction planning, or a comparable qualification

• Several years of solid professional experience in independent construction management and project execution in Swiss building construction, ideally in upscale residential construction or turnkey condominiums

• Comprehensive knowledge of Swiss building legislation and relevant SIA standards, especially SIA 118, as well as experience with tenders, contracts for work and contractor awards

• Proven competence in cost, schedule and quality management as well as in the economical control of complex construction projects

• Confident use of construction administration and project management software, preferably Messerli, as well as very good user knowledge of Microsoft 365

• Strong leadership and organisational skills, entrepreneurial thinking as well as an independent, structured and solution-oriented working style with interest in long-term leadership responsibility

• Very good German language skills in spoken and written form for project management, negotiation and communication with clients, authorities and companies
