Automation Technician, Electrical Reference
- 05 October 2026
- 100%
- Permanent position
About the job
Aptia - aptitude in motion
You follow the device from start to finish, from electromechanical assembly to commissioning and after-sales service, becoming the electrical reference for a small workshop. Permanent position at 100%, Morges region, start date to be agreed.
THE COMPANY
Our client is a family-run industrial SME located near Morges, which designs and manufactures its own professional electrical equipment. The technical office, assembly and testing are all located on a single site; the devices are then sent to customers in Switzerland and internationally. This position is in the assembly department, which is expanding.
YOUR MISSION
You are the person the workshop turns to for everything related to the electricity and electronics of the products. On a daily basis, you wire the devices and assemble their sub-assemblies, install the firmware, then adjust and test each device before dispatch. Occasionally, commissioning, diagnostics or troubleshooting will take you to a client in Switzerland.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Be the workshop's centre of expertise for electrical assembly.
- Serve as the contact person for electrical and electronic product questions.
- Support the workshop manager in routine tasks and organisation.
- Wire devices, assemble sub-assemblies, both mechanical and electromechanical.
- Adjust devices, perform functional tests and end-of-line quality checks.
- Install firmware on electronic boards and embedded equipment, then update them.
- Contribute, with the technical office, to product testing and validation.
- Occasionally ensure commissioning, diagnostics and troubleshooting at clients in Switzerland.
WHAT OUR CLIENT OFFERS YOU
- A reference role, with real autonomy over the electrical part.
- A product designed and manufactured under one roof: you accompany each device from the first wire to commissioning at the client.
- Direct contact with the technical office and, during interventions, with clients: the workshop daily, the field occasionally.
- You receive product training upon arrival, in modern premises.
- A single contact at Aptia throughout the process.
The position requires a Federal VET Diploma as an automation technician or equivalent and proven experience in industrial production. German is a major asset for assignments in German-speaking Switzerland, but not a requirement.
- Proficient wiring according to electrical diagrams; ability to draw them is a plus.
- Knowledge of electronics; comfortable with firmware and IT.
- Capable of analysing faults and diagnosing issues.
- Autonomous, rigorous and efficient; attentive to customer service, quality and productivity.
- Fluent French, both spoken and written (minimum C1 level).
- Available for occasional travel to clients, driving licence B.
- Interested? Apply online. Our client’s identity remains confidential until the interview. Valid work authorisation for Switzerland.
