Senior Software Engineer - Agentic Development

Your Responsibilities

• End-to-end responsibility for the further development and releases of business-critical software solutions
• Joint professional discovery with clients and translation of complex business processes into viable software solutions
• Modelling of business domains and requirements, for example with Domain-Driven Design, Event Storming or BPMN
• Design and development of modern enterprise applications – from the domain model through APIs and services to the user interface
• Targeted use of AI agents for software development, testing, refactoring and other engineering tasks
• Critical review and validation of AI-generated code as well as taking over where agents reach professional or technical limits
• Building meaningful automated tests and test data to ensure professionally correct results
• Further development of build, deployment and operational processes
• Responsibility for code quality, maintainability and long-term technical stability
• Coaching other engineers in TDD, refactoring, pair programming, code reviews and agentic development
• Direct exchange with professionals at the client and active participation in workshops
• Contributing to internal engineering tools and feeding project experiences back into technological development

Our Requirements

• There are some requirements that are truly central for this role:
• At least five years of experience in professional software development
• Current experience with real release and implementation responsibility for productive applications
• Very good knowledge of Java or TypeScript and willingness to intensively learn the other language
• Experience with modern backend technologies and frameworks such as Spring or Node.js
• Good knowledge in developing APIs and integrations, for example with REST and WebSockets
• Practical experience with AI agents in software engineering that goes beyond classic code completion
• Experience in critically reviewing AI-generated code, recognising errors and establishing appropriate quality assurance mechanisms
• Strong understanding of automated testing and the ability to assess whether a test suite actually makes professionally relevant statements
• Enjoyment in exploring complex business domains yourself rather than developing solely according to finished specifications
• Willingness to work directly with clients and business stakeholders and to moderate workshops
• Very good German skills including confident communication in the Swiss German environment
• Experience with Domain-Driven Design, Event Storming, BPMN, TDD, refactoring, pair programming and complex integration landscapes is an advantage.

• Salary range from CHF 110,000 to 135,000 per year, depending on your experience
