About the position

Our client is an established corporate group with several companies. For group controlling in the Zurich economic area, we are looking for an experienced specialist who manages group-wide reporting, supports management with reliable analyses and further develops controlling instruments. The workload is negotiable between 80 and 100 %.

The role is anchored in the German-speaking region: you work daily with departments and management, are familiar with the Swiss accounting environment and confidently navigate between individual financial statements according to OR and group perspective according to IFRS. We are not looking for a mere number provider, but a person who understands numbers, questions them and derives recommendations.

Your tasks

Group reporting and financial statements

• Monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements of group companies, consolidation according to IFRS, individual financial statements according to OR
• Planning, budgeting and forecasting together with departments
• Analysis and commentary on key figures as well as deriving concrete recommendations for action
• Preparation of reports and decision-making bases for management

Analysis and control

• Development, maintenance and further development of evaluation and analysis models in Excel: data preparation from upstream systems, pivot and Power Query models, variance analyses, scenarios
• Support of measures to improve results: assess impact, monitor implementation
• Assessment of investment and profitability calculations
• Further development of planning, controlling and reporting instruments in the existing system environment

Collaboration and projects

• Contact person for departments, project management and controlling units of the companies
• Leading specialist projects and participating in cross-departmental initiatives
• Mapping changes in the group structure in reporting
• Continuous optimisation of finance and controlling processes

Your profile

Professional requirements

• Business administration degree (university/FH) or Swiss federal diploma in finance and accounting - Swiss federal diploma as expert in accounting and controlling, controller with Swiss federal certificate or comparable qualification in Germany
• Several years of experience in group or corporate controlling of a company based in Switzerland or Germany
• Confident in the Swiss accounting environment: financial statements according to OR, consolidation, reconciliation to IFRS (Swiss GAAP FER advantageous)
• Advanced Excel skills at expert level. You work daily with large data volumes from several companies: pivot, Power Query, nested formula logic, clean and comprehensible models that a third party can also understand
• Confident handling of ERP and BI systems as data sources; you retrieve the figures yourself instead of waiting for evaluations
• Confident preparation of management presentations: from the model to the decision template without disruption

Language, workplace and permit

• German at native or business fluent level (at least C1) - working, meeting and reporting language is consistently German
• Understanding of Swiss German in everyday work is an advantage
• English for communication in the group context
• Residence in Switzerland or the border area or existing permission to work in Switzerland (CH/EU/EFTA). Support with relocation or permit procedures is not part of this mandate.
• Presence at the workplace in the Zurich economic area; home office by arrangement - the role is not a remote position.
