Design cloud infrastructure at enterprise level instead of just operating it: We are looking for a technically skilled individual who further develops, automates, and architecturally shapes modern private cloud platforms. The focus is on OpenStack, Linux, containerisation, and infrastructure as code.
Responsibilities:
Technical responsibility for a highly available private cloud environment based on OpenStack
Development and further development of scalable cloud architectures across compute, storage, and networking
Establishment of standardised and automated provisioning and deployment processes
Implementation of infrastructure as code with Ansible, OpenTofu, and comparable technologies
Optimisation of performance, stability, scalability, and fault tolerance of the platform
Integration of modern container and orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes
Analysis of complex infrastructure issues at platform, Linux, and network levels
Handling demanding incidents in 2nd and 3rd level support
Development of technical standards for cloud operations, monitoring, and lifecycle management
Co-design of architectural decisions and evaluation of new technologies
Collaboration with specialists from network, storage, security, and platform engineering
Qualifications:
Completed training or degree in computer science, system engineering, cloud computing, or comparable qualification
Several years of practical experience with open-source solutions in productive environments
Very good knowledge of Linux and experience with container platforms
Solid understanding of distributed systems, networks, storage, and virtualisation
Experience with automation, configuration management, and infrastructure as code
Practical knowledge of Ansible
Experience with Kubernetes or comparable container orchestration platforms is an advantage
Analytical thinking and enjoyment in solving complex technical challenges
Independent and structured working style
Willingness to participate in a technical on-call service
