As a Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer, you manage and develop complex enterprise infrastructures focusing on servers, storage, SAN, virtualisation and Microsoft technologies. You ensure stable operations, optimise systems and support demanding technical challenges in 2nd and 3rd level support. With your expertise in Windows Server, VMware, Active Directory, PowerShell and IT security, you drive the further development of modern IT environments. You work closely with global IT teams, partners and specialist departments.
Responsibilities:
Planning, building and continuous development of global IT infrastructure services focusing on servers, storage, SAN, virtualisation and Active Directory
Operation and administration of complex physical and virtual server platforms, storage systems and data centre components including lifecycle management, firmware updates and capacity planning
Analysis of business and IT requirements and development of secure, scalable and cost-effective infrastructure solutions in compliance with security, compliance and operational standards
Support in 2nd and 3rd level support including troubleshooting for Windows Server, Active Directory, virtualisation and storage environments
Automation and optimisation of IT operational processes using PowerShell scripting as well as collaboration with global IT teams, suppliers and technology partners
Qualifications:
Completed bachelor's degree, higher vocational qualification or comparable education in computer science, computer engineering, information technology, system engineering or a related technical field
7-10 years of professional experience in IT system engineering, IT operations or operating complex enterprise infrastructures with solid knowledge of servers, virtualisation and management tools
Very good knowledge of storage and SAN technologies, including operation, troubleshooting, fault analysis, capacity planning and lifecycle management as well as extensive experience with Windows Server, VMware, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS and DHCP
Experience with PowerShell scripting, automation, IT infrastructure security, server hardening, patch management, privileged access management, monitoring, Microsoft Entra ID, hybrid identity and conditional access
Strong analytical skills, high problem-solving competence, excellent communication and teamwork skills as well as experience working with external service providers, technology partners and global IT teams with very good English skills (written and spoken)
