Specialist in Occupational Safety and Health Protection (m/f/d)
The Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) department advises, supports and trains all organisational units and members of ETH Zurich on questions of workplace safety and health. It is the contact point for all centrally organised measures dealing with hazards and risks to protect people, animals, assets, infrastructure and the environment, as well as for questions regarding compliance with the relevant legal requirements. In the event of an incident, it maintains an appropriate emergency organisation. Both in everyday operations and in emergencies, it works closely with authorities and external emergency services.
SHE ensures the systematic involvement of ASA specialists in accordance with EKAS Guideline 6508 for ETH. To fulfil this task professionally and efficiently, we are looking for an experienced and committed individual as a Specialist in Occupational Safety and Health Protection (m/f/d) starting immediately or by arrangement.

- As part of the "ASA team" of the Occupational Safety, Health and Environment section, you are the central contact person for all questions concerning occupational safety and health protection at ETH Zurich
- You advise our organisational units with expertise, empathy and foresight – and not just from behind a desk
- Whether laboratory, workshop or fieldwork: you are in the thick of it when it comes to combining safety with innovation
- You work closely with an interdisciplinary team and contribute your expertise specifically in laboratory safety
- In doing so, you develop safety concepts, conduct inspections, train employees and find pragmatic solutions – always with the aim of protecting people, the environment and infrastructure as best as possible
- Your work is characterised by personal responsibility, dialogue and the aspiration to improve together
- Your workplace is in Zurich, but you will also occasionally work at other ETH locations
Profile
- Completed scientific education, e.g. chemistry, biology
- ASA specialist with a federal certificate
- Several years of experience in a laboratory environment with very good knowledge in laboratory safety and chemical safety
- Interest in further training in other specialist topics (e.g. radiation protection, biosafety)
- Enjoyment of continuous professional development
- Very good German skills, good English skills (level C1) and strong communication skills
