Social Worker in Individual Social Action (Fixed-term contract from November to December 2026 at 60%, with possibility of renewal)

To strengthen the seniors' division of its solidarity and social cohesion service, as part of a replacement, the city is looking for a:

Your mission:

Within a multidisciplinary team of 40 people, you will ensure, together with your three direct colleagues, the reception, assessment, and analysis of the situation of seniors requesting communal social support. Depending on the requests, you will be required to guide, advise, and support seniors in their administrative procedures with a view to improving their situation and/or accessing their rights. You will be responsible for co-constructing, with the individuals, the strategy to be implemented and will evaluate the appropriateness of providing financial benefits in accordance with municipal directives.

Your main tasks:

• listen to, support, and accompany seniors who freely request the service on an individual basis;
• analyse and assess requests;
• carry out certain follow-ups at home;
• co-construct with individuals the action strategy aimed at stabilising their situation;
• prepare fund requests, files for the complementary benefits service, and other administrative acts;
• collaborate with colleagues from the municipal administration as well as with the Geneva socio-health network.

Your profile:

• HETS diploma, social service orientation preferred or equivalent;
• professional experience in the social field preferred;
• good knowledge of the senior public and the Geneva socio-health network;
• ability to work autonomously, in a team, and within a network;
• good writing skills and proficiency with office tools;
• capacity to take initiative and strong organisational skills;
• developed interpersonal skills, empathy, and diplomacy;
• knowledge of languages other than French is an asset.
