Network Security Engineer (m/f/d)

On behalf of our client based in Geneva, we are looking for a Network Security Engineer (m/f/d) responsible for designing, securing, and maintaining critical network infrastructures, while contributing to their evolution and managing cybersecurity incidents.
Your mission
- Design, deploy, and maintain network security solutions, including firewalls, VPNs, IPS, reverse proxies, web proxies, PAM, and segmentation mechanisms.
- Define and implement network security policies, identify vulnerabilities, and propose appropriate corrective measures.
- Analyse network events and traffic, investigate complex security incidents, and actively contribute to their resolution.
- Participate in architecture, transformation, and migration projects of network and security infrastructures, ensuring their reliability and performance.
- Automate administration and security operations where relevant, keep up with technological developments, and maintain technical documentation.
Your profile
- University Master’s degree in computer science, EPF engineering diploma, or equivalent training, with at least 8 years of experience in networking and cybersecurity, ideally in complex, critical, or highly regulated environments.
- Excellent command of TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, DHCP, ARP, ICMP, and HTTP/HTTPS protocols, as well as a solid understanding of network communication and routing mechanisms.
- Proven expertise in at least one Next Generation Firewall solution, such as Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, or Check Point.
- Expertise in designing, administering, and troubleshooting network security solutions, particularly in filtering policies, NAT/PAT, segmentation, security zones, and traffic control.
- Excellent ability to analyse network traffic and resolve complex incidents, with proficiency in tools such as Wireshark and tcpdump, as well as hands-on experience in managing network security incidents.
- Ability to produce and maintain architecture documentation, network diagrams, operating procedures, and technical files; autonomy, rigour, analytical mindset, and ability to perform effectively under pressure.
