Role:
On behalf of the client, we are looking for an experienced individual as a Civil Engineer / Project Manager Hydraulic Engineering for the planning and management of demanding hydraulic engineering and environmental projects. You will accompany projects from the preliminary study through design and approval procedures to realisation and take on the technical and organisational leadership of interdisciplinary project teams. Key areas include flood protection, revitalisation, natural hazards and torrent control as well as the development of sustainable solutions for watercourse areas. You will coordinate internal specialist departments, clients and authorities and ensure compliance with quality, costs and deadlines.
Responsibilities:
Independent design and project management of hydraulic engineering projects of varying size and complexity across all relevant project phases
Planning and implementation of flood protection and revitalisation projects on flowing waters
Development and dimensioning of protection measures against floods, debris flows and other natural hazards
Handling technical issues related to hydraulics, hydrology, sediment transport and watercourse dynamics
Conducting and technically assessing hydraulic modelling and deriving suitable hydraulic engineering measures
Preparation of preliminary studies, variant studies, preliminary designs, construction and execution plans according to Swiss planning practice
Leadership and coordination of interdisciplinary project teams from hydraulic engineering, environment, geology, ecology and other specialist areas
Preparation of tender and submission documents as well as technical support during awarding and execution
Management of project costs, deadlines and quality including ongoing project controlling and reporting
Coordination with municipalities, cantons, specialist authorities, clients and other project participants within approval and planning procedures
Technical support during realisation and construction execution up to acceptance, documentation and successful project completion
Support of the department management in project development, resource planning and technical issues
Qualifications:
University degree as a Civil Engineer FH or ETH, ideally with a specialisation in hydraulic engineering, hydraulics or structural engineering
Several years of professional experience in design and management of hydraulic engineering projects in Switzerland
Sound knowledge in flood protection, revitalisation, natural hazards and hydraulic design
Experience with hydrological and hydraulic modelling and relevant specialist applications
Knowledge of Swiss SIA standards, hydraulic engineering and environmental regulations as well as approval procedures
Experience in the technical leadership of interdisciplinary project teams as well as in cost, schedule and quality management
Very good German language skills spoken and written
