About the job
Job Description
Our client is an innovative, internationally operating technology company in Eastern Switzerland. In the field of sophisticated technical systems and industrial processes, the company stands for the highest quality and customised customer solutions.
To strengthen the technical team, we are looking for a skilled Application Engineer and a true "doer" who acts independently. If you are a solution-oriented tinkerer, have a great interest in ultrasonic technology, and enjoy bringing process concepts to life directly at the customer’s site, this is your chance.
Application Engineer (m/f/d)
Your tasks:
- Technical consulting of customers, subsidiaries, area sales managers and distributors, especially regarding feasibility assessments and component design
- Conducting exciting principle tests (e.g. in-house welding applications) in the company’s own technology and competence centre, the internal test laboratory
- Independent development of process and tool concepts for specific customer projects as well as adapting weld seams to customer requirements
Responsible execution of initial sampling - Commissioning, acceptance and solution-oriented support directly on site at the customer (primarily with a regional focus)
- Creating, planning and conducting internal and external training sessions (for employees, customers and branches) in the field of application technology
- Representing the company through active participation in specialist events and international trade fairs (approx. 3 to 4 days, sometimes over the weekend)
What you can look forward to
- A varied and very independent hub function between technology, sales and customer, where you act as the sole expert in the laboratory and are actively supported by the area sales manager
- A state-of-the-art working environment (secured laboratory with glass fronts directly in assembly) with your own competence centre for your trials
- Great personal responsibility and freedom in shaping your customer projects
- The opportunity to build a direct connection to customers through occasional, well-planned travel activities, as extensive foreign assignments are usually covered by regional sales, area sales managers or service
- Professional onboarding ensured by the internal area sales manager
Qualifications
Your profile:
- Completed technical training, ideally in design or as an injection mould tool designer, preferably supplemented by a completed technician HF degree
- Professional experience in industrial manufacturing or process technology as well as practical experience in technical customer or application support
- Solid material and manufacturing knowledge (especially in plastics) combined with a good understanding of technical drawings and a keen eye for detail
- Experienced handling of measuring instruments as well as experience in clean documentation, creating technical reports and process development (CIP)
- Strong analytical thinking, absolute team spirit and very high customer orientation with good appearance and strong communication skills for knowledge transfer
- Very good German and good English skills in spoken and written form for smooth training and international collaboration
- Confident use of MS Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint) as well as good general PC skills, ideally SAP
- Willingness for well-planned, predominantly regional assignments (approx. 2 to 3 times a month for day assignments, approx. 10%) as well as a valid driving licence class B
