Role:

On behalf of a client, we are looking for an experienced professional as an architect specialising in design and project development for the independent creation and planning of demanding architectural projects. You will develop innovative design concepts, preliminary projects and building applications and accompany your projects from the initial idea through the approval process to the design implementation on site. The focus is on architectural design, building law clarifications, ArchiCAD planning and coordination with authorities, clients and specialist planners. The position offers a modern architectural environment with a high degree of design responsibility, flexible working models and the opportunity to accompany your own architectural ideas through to realisation.

Responsibilities:

• Architectural design: Independent development and design of demanding architectural concepts for new build, conversion and renovation projects.

• Project development: Preparation of feasibility studies, design variants, preliminary projects and construction projects taking into account design, technical and economic requirements.

• ArchiCAD and 3D planning: Creation of design plans, project plans, 3D building models and architectural presentation documents using ArchiCAD.

• Building application and approval procedures: Independent preparation and submission of building applications, building application plans, evidence and approval documents.

• Building law clarifications: Examination and implementation of cantonal building laws, municipal building and land use regulations, boundary distances and utilisation regulations.

• Building construction and detail development: Development of constructive concepts, material proposals and technical detail solutions.

• Coordination with authorities and specialist planners: Coordination of architectural and technical issues with clients, authorities, structural engineers and building services planners.

• Design implementation supervision: Ensuring architectural quality and implementation of the design concept in collaboration with project and construction management.

• Standards and quality assurance: Consideration of relevant SIA standards, fire protection regulations, energy requirements and construction technical guidelines.

• Project presentation: Preparation and presentation of design concepts, visualisations, material concepts and decision-making bases for clients and project participants.

Qualifications:

• Completed architecture degree from ETH or FH or a comparable recognised higher education qualification.

• Several years of professional experience in architectural design and project development of construction projects in Switzerland.

• Very good ArchiCAD skills as well as experience in 2D/3D planning, design processing and preparation of building application plans.

• Sound knowledge of Swiss building law, especially cantonal building regulations, municipal building codes and approval procedures.

• Experience in building construction, materialisation, project coordination and design implementation supervision.

• Knowledge of relevant SIA standards as well as construction technical and energy requirements in Swiss building construction.

• Business fluent German skills in spoken and written form for building applications, authority contacts and project presentations.
