What you can contribute to
- Design and develop statistical analyses, indicators and decision-making databases based on data for stakeholders of social assistance statistics
- Process datasets using complex queries in R, Python, SQL and other analytical tools, and handle data matching
- Automate, document and improve data integration, analysis and publication processes
- Establish statistical analyses, quality, operational and performance indicators, and make them available to specialists, supervisors and other stakeholders using Power BI
- Develop and maintain standards, governance principles and documentation concerning the data and analysis platform of social assistance statistics
- Reconcile statistical, business and technical requirements, and organise the development of production and analysis processes
What makes you unique
- Degree from a university of applied sciences in statistics, data science, computer science, business informatics, economics or social sciences, with a technical focus
- Very good command of R, Python, SQL, DAX and Power BI, and experience in designing and developing integration, analysis or data warehouse solutions. Knowledge of SAS would be an additional asset
- Ability to translate statistical, business and technical requirements into sustainable solutions
- A strong sense of responsibility, solid conceptual skills and a taste for interdisciplinary collaboration. Good knowledge of the Swiss social protection system, especially social assistance, is an asset
- Active knowledge of two official languages and very good knowledge of English

The Federal Statistical Office (FSO) is the competence centre for public statistics and the main player in the Swiss data ecosystem. It produces statistical information, works towards data harmonisation through national data management and develops data science-driven processes to advance data interpretation. The FSO thus contributes to shaping public opinion and makes an important contribution to modern democratic governance.

The Social Assistance section is responsible for collecting, processing, analysing and publishing data on means-tested social benefits in Switzerland. It manages social assistance statistics in collaboration with cantons, municipalities and other partners, providing up-to-date information for social policy steering. It also develops and manages statistical databases, indicators, monitoring systems and analyses concerning the social protection system.
