Role:
Our partner, one of the largest providers of room systems, construction machinery, construction equipment, and water protection systems in Switzerland, is seeking a Head of Finance and Accounting due to a succession arrangement. The company provides its customers with technically sophisticated machines and systems in modern and proven construction methods. The headquarters is located in the canton of Zurich.
Responsibilities:
- You ensure proper accounting in accordance with OR and Swiss GAAP FER
- You are responsible for the correct management of the general ledger (including subsidiary ledgers)
- You conduct the monthly preparation of individual financial statements, the consolidated group financial statements, and reporting
- You are responsible for the professional and personnel management of the finance and accounting team
- You ensure correct settlements with authorities (taxes, VAT, withholding tax, etc.)
- You are responsible for ensuring up-to-date cash management and forward-looking liquidity planning
- You act as the contact person for the audit company as well as for the accounting matters of the locations and subsidiaries
- You maintain close cooperation with those responsible for upstream processes
- You are responsible for the expansion and further development of the internal control system (ICS)
- You take on project responsibility (e.g. expansion of digitalisation processes)
- You support and report to the CFO
Qualifications:
- You have a higher education in finance (federal diploma in finance and accounting, HWV/FH etc.)
- You have many years of accounting and leadership experience in a comparable position
- Ideally, you have several years of SME experience in the construction industry or in a trading company
- You have experience with common ERP systems (SAGE and Opacc are advantageous) and good Excel skills
- You have an independent, flexible, and team-oriented working style
- You have fluent German skills; French is an advantage
- You have analytical, interconnected, and entrepreneurial thinking
- You are also resilient, flexible, communicative, curious, and reliable
