About the job
What the daily professional routine looks like
- You advise all hygiene-relevant areas and support employees and managers with professional questions
- You prevent, detect and combat nosocomial infections and help to reduce pathogen transmissions
- You conduct hygiene inspections and audits, assess actual and target states, and initiate appropriate corrective measures in case of deviations
- You collect and analyse relevant data, such as infection rates, and prepare the results for expert committees and decision-makers
- You create, implement and update guidelines, concepts and programmes for infection prevention and conduct corresponding training and further education
- You observe professional and scientific developments, assess their relevance and support their implementation in the organisation
- In case of acute infection risk, you intervene professionally and consistently within the scope of your delegated competencies
Competences and potential
- Diploma as a registered nurse HF or FH
- Completed further training as a specialist in infection prevention in healthcare with a federal diploma (HFP)
- Several years of professional experience in an acute hospital; experience in hospital hygiene, infection prevention or quality management is an advantage
- Strong analytical skills and enjoyment of evidence-based work, data evaluation and reading English-language specialist literature
- Confident, target group-appropriate appearance in consulting and training as well as the ability to act decisively even in demanding situations
- Independent, structured and solution-oriented working style as well as enjoyment of interprofessional and cross-site collaboration
- Regular working hours in a responsible specialist role
- An autonomous working style in a professionally demanding and constantly evolving environment
- Supportive, collegial collaboration within the hospital hygiene team as well as with infectiologists
